If I wanted to rebuild it for a spare motor for basfnb's 300 (which is a 4x4) I'd need to get a new 4x4 output shaft, case cover, and what else? Figured if I pick it up I'd have to split cases and do a total rebuild anyhow. When we had a 300 with stock sized tires, it had plenty of power in first to spin on any surface while towing, gearing it lower wont make it tow stuff any better at all IMO.
